HIV/AIDS Awareness and Mental Health Symposium

Feb. 11, 2021#teamLNNAIS in partnership with the Tubod Municipal Health Unit held the HIV Awareness and Mental Health Symposium at Nelieta Hall, Technology Building 1, LNNAIS Extension Campus, Poblacion, Tubod, Lanao del Norte. The Health Support Services aimed to address the school’s staff and students health-related concerns through this information drive.

The resource speakers shared their expertise on their topic. Aileen A. Cabahug, RN, MN, the IDC Nurse Coordinator explained the HIV 101: Statistics, Basics of STI, HIV and AIDS. She put emphasis on the ABCDE preventive measures in order to break the chain of HIV Infection, how one can be tested and be treated. She ended her topic with a hashtag to challenge the participants to do the ABCDE especially in the upcoming valentines, “#saHIVlangmayforever

Dra. Maria Filipina Camins, Municipal Health Officer shared her expertise on the topic Mental Health. She highlighted the importance of the 12 S for Stress Management and end her topic with one of its S, “Spirituality” which pointed out the importance of finding one’s own individual path to spirituality and have a strong connection to God.
